About

Hi! I’m Gray and thanks for visiting!

I am a twenty-something long distance runner living, loving, traveling and of course, running in the West. I’m a self-professed “Bling Runner” and am on the pursuit for the best running medals out there.  I’m considered a slow runner but still enjoy the journey and lessons I’ve learned along the way.

I’ve been running since 2012- my first race was a half marathon, believe it or not!  A friend of mine signed up for the 2012 Disney Princess Half in Orlando, and challenged several girls to run it with her, being the first half marathon for all of us. I was never a runner in school, saying it was “too boring”, “too hard”, and “those marathoners are just crazy people!” But, I couldn’t say no to the challenge! So, the training started and three of us newbies crossed the finish line in February 2012. Since then, I’ve been hooked on running races and fantastic bling! (Disney gives out some of the biggest medals I’ve seen – the size of your palm!)

Since 2012, I’ve completed two marathons (Disney), five half marathons, a 15k, a 10k and two 5ks. I believe my biggest racing accomplishment, thus far, was completing the inaugural 2014 Dopey Challenge.  While I have mainly completed Disney races, I’m hoping to branch out to other racing franchises, such as Rock ‘N Roll and Ragner, and some great local races.

This blog will mostly focus running and nutrition, but also life and relationships in the West.

Thanks for swinging by!
